One year imprisonment for fake Indian doctor
Dubai, July 4 (UNI) An Indian, who falsely claimed to be a doctor, has been jailed for a year after being found guilty of accidentally causing the death of a patient while administering drip injection.
The 32-year-old Antola Lukshami was charged with illegally practicing medicine following the death of a 37-year-old compatriot Narsyan Shelovero in a labour camp.
When the victim's condition worsened, the ''fake doctor'' went out to call a taxi to take the patient to hospital, but vanished from the scene.
The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced Lukshami to one year in jail and deportation thereafter for practising medicine without a licence.
