Meghalaya govt to introduce speed guns to control accidents
Shillong, Jul 4 (UNI) The Meghalaya government was in the process to acquire speed guns and breath analyser to contain road accidents, state Home Minister Robert Garnett Lyngdoh said in the Assembly today.
To a query by Independent Legislator Manas Chaudhuri, Mr Lyngdoh said the government was aware that road accidents were increasing owing to rash driving in inebriated condition.
The Home Minister also made it clear that the law does not permit motorists to drive motor vehicles after consuming alcohol.
