Maffick launches home care products in Eastern India

Kolkata, Jul 4 (UNI) Aiming at capturing a slice of the growing FMCG market, Maffick Home Products Pvt Ltd today launched its products for the first time in Eastern India.

The company, headquartered in Kolkata, is the latest entrant in the home care products segment like soaps, talcum powder, mosquito-coils, hair oil and body lotion.

Initially it will target consumers of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa and all North Eastern states including Sikkim, company sources said.

The company has gone in for a technical tie-up with 'In Essence' Aromatherapy of Australia, which will guide Maffick to come out with quality products keeping in mind the climatic conditions prevailing in Eastern India. Maffick has infused an initial investment of Rs 4 crore and with the emergence of fully automated plants, Maffick aims to foray into the foreign markets. Its Australian collaborator has alredy taken measures to spread out Maffick products in the international market.

Asked about the plans to penetrate other parts of the country, Maffick's Managing Director D Bhattacharyya said, '' We will take our products to Northern and Western India after seeing the reaction of the market in Eastern India.'' Mr Bhattacharyya informed that apart from the existing plant at Garia, another plant would be set up in Guskara in Burdwan soon. The company has opted for joint venture with Surjya Chemicals of West Bengal and Rohini Home Care in Secunderabad.
