LIC's exhibiton on wheel reaches Mumbai
Mumbai, July 4 (UNI) As part of Life Insurance Corporation's (LIC) Golden Jubilee year celebrations, the special exhibition citing an achievement of the corporation during last 50 years was displayed in five bogies of a train named ''Zindagi Express' that reached Mumbai today, after covering 39 stations of eastern coast of the country.
Mr G R Vij, Additional General Manager of Central Railway, inaugurated the exchibition.
Speaking at the function Mr Vij said in the era of liberalisation and globalisation LIC has played a vital role and maintained its growth. It has played a significant role in contributing to the growth of public utility like electricity, water supply, road transport and housing.
LIC western Zone Manager Mr S K Kapahi, said LIC is a world class organisation having over 19 crore policyholders. It has made significant contribution towards Nation building activities.
In the Zindagi Express LIC has put on display several historical documents, such as the claims settlement documents of Mahatma Gandhi and other rare documents from its archives.
The exhibition was opened for public today from 1100 hrs to 2000 hours.
From Mumbai the exhibition on wheel will start its journey to Gujarat and would end at New Delhi.
