Landslide kills 11, injures 5 in Kinnuar

Shimla, Jul 4 (UNI) Eleven people were killed and five seriously injured in a landslide in Kinnuar district of Himachal Pradesh today, police sources said.

The incident occurred at Maling, about 70 kms from Rekong Peo, headquarter of the district, when the labourers were widening the road.

The sources said bodies of five people have been pulled out of the debris, while an equal number of people injured in the accident have been admitted to a government hospital at Pooh.

At least six labourers were still under the debris and official sources said they were feared dead the sources said.

The dead included an official of the Border Road Organisation (BRO), which was widening the road at the time of the landslide was yet to be identified.
