Kalasa records 21 cm rain

Bangalore July 4 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hours today.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Very Heavy Rainfall amounts (cm): Kalasa 21; Somwarpet 17; Kammardi, Sringeri 16 each; Hosanagar 13.

Heavy Rainfall amounts (cm): Kundapur, Londa 11 each; Kollur 9; Linganamakki, Madikeri 8 each, Yellapura, Sagar, Belur 7 each.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Subramanya, Gerusoppa, Belgaum City, Thirthahalli, Sakleshpura 6 each; Bantwal, Dharmasthala, Siddapura (Uttara Kannada dt), Jayapura 5 each.

Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at many places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin:Moderate to heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all districts of Coastal Karnataka and over ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka and Belgaum district of North Interior Karnataka and at many places over remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over State during next 48 hours.

FISHRIES WARNING: Strong onshore winds from westerly direction speed occasionally reaching 55 to 60 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change is expected over the State.

Local forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy. Light rain likely. Strong surface winds gusty at times.
