Bhubaneswar, July 4 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam left for Delhi this evening after completing his three-day visit to Orissa.

Dr Kalam arrived here on July 2 and had to reschedule his visit to Berhampur as the inclement weather forced him to cancel his two scheduled programme in Berhampur and stayed here to inaugurate the Bhubaneswar Eye Institute, an unit of L V Prasad Eye Institute of Hyderabad.

This morning, however, instead of proceeding to the Wheeler Islands inside the Bay of Bengal, Dr Kalam went to Berhampur to inaugurate the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of City High School and Silver Jubilee celebration of the College of Pharmaceutical Science at Mohuda, 8 km from Berhampur.

He then flew to the Wheeler Islands to inspect various establishments of Test Range and hold discussion with the defence officials of the Defence Research Development Organisation.

The President returned to Bhubaneswar airport from the Wheeler Islands and then proceeded back to Delhi.

Orissa Governor Rameswar Thakur and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik besides senior officials were present at the airport to see him off.
