Heroin, lion skin estimated at Rs 2.25 cr seized; 3 arrested
Luckow, July 4 (UNI) Special Operations Group (SOG) of Uttar Pradesh Police today busted a smuggling syndicate and arrested of three people possessing heroin and a lion skin collectively estimated at Rs 2.25 crore in the international market.
According to police, the arrests were made this afternoon in the Ghazipur area of the state capital.
The accused have been identified as Brahmadev Singh Saini, Chandra Prakash Saini and Yogendra Jatav. The trio hail from the Jyotibaphule Nagar district of UP.
Acting on a tip-off, SOG sleuths impersonated as buyers and contacted the gang members on Ring Road in Sector 25.
The psychotropic substance which was seized, weighed one kg.
Investigations were on, the police said.
