HC selects three eminent neuro-surgeons for Shahabuddin

Patna, July 4 (UNI) Patna High Court today selected three eminent nuero-surgeons of the country and directed them to examine incarcerated RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin and file a report on his health within three weeks.

A single bench, consisting Justice Chadramoli Kumar Prasad selected three doctors for treating the RJD MP from a list of 11 neuro specialists provided by his counsel.

The doctors selected for the medical check up of Mr Shahabuddin are Dr A K Jain of AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr Maniyar of Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai, and Dr Vikram Kashyap of Bangalore.

The court made it clear that expenses to be incurred on the food, lodging and conveyance of the medical team would be borne by the RJD MP. The state government would have the responsibility of providing security to the visiting physicians.

Earlier, the court had directed the state government to furnish the list of eminent neuro surgeons for medical check-up of Mr Shahabuddin. But the state government failed to furnish the names.

Mohammad Shahabuddin had filed a petition in the court seeking direction for the state government to provide him better medical treatment.
