George Fernandes hospitalised in Wockhardt

Bangalore, July 4: Former Defence Minister George Fernandes was admitted to the private Wockhardt Health Care Hospital here this morning after he complained of breathlessness and discomfort in the chest.

Hospital sources said he would be kept under observation at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital for the next 24 hours.

Intervention Cardiologist Ranganath Naik was monitoring his treatment.

They said the 76-year-old veteran trade unionist was brought to the hospital at 1130 hrs.

His brother and former Mayor Michael Fernandes visited him at the hospital.
