Chanda, Ganguly share second spot after six rounds in Swiss Open

Philadelphia, July 4 (UNI) Grandmaster duo Sandipan Chanda and Surya Shekhar Ganguly share the second spot with seven others and trail Vadim Milov by one point after six rounds of the Swiss World Open championship here.

Both the Grandmasters from Kolkata have accumulated five points each from six rounds and are second behind Swiss Milov, who has so far won all his games to get a perfect six in the nine-round event.

Chanda -- seeded third in the event -- won five games but lost his fourth round match, while Ganguly won four games and drew two.

Chanda is one of the three chess players above 2700 Elo ratings in the tournament.

Other Indians in the fray in this 500,000 dollar prize money tournament include Abhijit Kunte, C Magesh, S Meenakshi, Nisha Mohta, D Harika, S Vijaylakshmi and Swati Ghate.
