BLFM releases Bru leader
Aizawl, July 4 : The Bru Liberation Front of Mizoram (BLFM) has released Mizoram Bru Displaced People Forum (MBDPF)'s president after holding him captive for more than 20 days.
According to sources, Elvis Chorky (28) was kidnapped by the outfit on June 9 from Santipur village near Mizoram-Tripura border.
Chorky was suffering from malaria, which led to his release.
The MBDPF leaders also accepted that Chorky was abducted because he did not support the BLFM.
He had been kidnapped by the outfit last year as a result of which he had moved out from the refugee camp a few months back.
The MBDPF leaders also mentioned that the BLFM has a strength of not more than 20 people, that too without sophisticated arms.
''However, chances are high that they may have gotten hold of sophisticated weapons since they receive assistance from the National Liberation Front of Tripura'', the Bru leaders alleged.
