BHEL bags power plant contracts in Rajasthan

Tiruchirapalli, Jul 4 (UNI) The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured contracts for setting up two thermal power projects in Rajasthan.

A BHEL release here today said the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limtied (RVUNL) had placed orders collectively valued at Rs 842 crore for setting up 250 MW unit at Suratgarh Thermal Power Station and a 195 MW unit at Kota TPS.

The steam generators will be made at BHEL's unit here and the turbine generators at the Haridwar Plant. The company's electronic division at Bangalore will supply the state-of-the-art controls and instruments.

Both the units are scheduled for commissioning in 2008. With this BHEL has maitained its track record of bagging all the orders placed by RVUNL for power generating equipment in Rajasthan, it claimed.
