Winsome textiles plans expansion worth Rs 117 cr

New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) Winsome Textile Industries Ltd today announced its expansion plans in Dharamsala as well as diversification projects worth Rs 117 crore.

The project near Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh, includes a hydro-project allotted by the Himachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (HIMURJA) with a total power potential of 2.50 MW.

Under the spinning project, the company will add 13000 spindles for manufacturing yarn at its existing manufacturing facility.

In addition, it is also going to add dyeing capacity of 10 tons per day alongwith the replacement of the existing 23,040 spindles, a company statement said.

The cost is proposed to be financed by term loans under TUFs of Rs 93.6 crore and internal accruals of Rs 23.4 crore.

Winsome Group started with a trading company in Calcutta in 1952, and with an eye on increasing business opportunities being offered by the textile industry, Winsome established a spinning unit at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh in 1980.

All their spinning units are equipped with latest machinery from Reiter, Lakshmi, Schlafhorst and Murata with special stress being given to minimise contamination, both at pre-spinning and post-spinning stages.
