UP sitting over Rs 650 crore: Cong
Mahoba, Jul 3 (UNI) Congress today alleged that Uttar Pradeh had been granted Rs 650 crore under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), but the state government was not utilising it.
Talking to newspersons here, AICC secretary Pravin Rashtrapal maintained the state was least interested in solving basic problems like poverty and unemployment.
Mr Rashtrapal is also in charge of the NREGS vigilance committee.
''People are not benefitting from the funds allocated to UP under various schemes,'' he said.
He claimed the committee had received complaints regarding corruption in Bundelkhand region also in land related projects.
Mr Rashtrapal informed Congress would send party workers to villages to take stock of the works under the NREGS.
