Sonia leaves for Delhi

Bhopal, Jul 3 (UNI) AICC President Sonia Gandhi left for Delhi by a special plane this afternoon after a brief visit to the Madhya Pradesh capital.

She was accompanied by HRD Minister Arjun Singh, Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath and MP Jyotiraditya Scindia.

The UPA chairperson was seen off at the Raja Bhoj Airport by Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Pachouri, his Agriculture counterpart Kantilal Bhuria, AICC General Secretary V Narayansami, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Jamuna Devi, state Congress President Subhash Yadav, General Secretary Manak Agrawal and senior Congress members.

This was Ms Gandhi's first visit here after the Congress-led UPA government took the reins at the Centre. Besides incorporating Bhopal in the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, she inaugurated the state Congress' newly-constructed Indira Bhavan and a Sanskar Valley School set up by a newspaper group. The Congress supremo also addressed a state-level party representatives convention.
