Sensex delights one and all, closes at 10,609.25

Mumbai, July 3 (UNI) The BSE sensitive index backed by Friday's glorious turn of events has again enlivened the investors by closing 86 points in the green at 10,695.26.

Major factors for growth in the indices have been the strong performance of FMCG, IT, Metals, Consumer Durables, Oil&Gas and Capital Goods sectors, all up by 1.58, 1.53, 0.89, 0.84, 0.71 and 0.41 per cent respectively.

Besides, the rainfall prediction of 90-100 per cent of the long term average by the meterolgical department has added towards the strong performance of FMCG, Capital Goods and Consumer Durable scrips for the second day in a row.

The BSE sensex swung 139.46 points in the intra day trade touching a high of 10729.92 and a low of 10,589.46.

All the Asian benchmark indices have closed in the green today, contributing to the growth of Indian market, Nikkei closed up by 0.4 per cent.

Lead gainers on the index were- TCS, HLL, Infosys,SBI, Reliance Communications, Tata Steel, ONGC, Reliance Indusries, Satyam Computers and ITC all up between 0.99 to 3.70 per cent.
