Sedition charge against Varanasi blast accused
Lucknow, July 3 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today sanctioned prosecution of Waliullah -- the main accused in Varanasi serial bomb blasts of March 7 last -- under the charge of sedition.
Arrested from the state capital on April 4, Waliullah was wanted in connection with the Varanasi blasts in the Sankat Mochan temple and Cantonment railway station, in which 18 people were killed.
He was booked under sections 121, 121A, 122, 124 A, 213, 153 A for sedition, 120 B of IPC, 15/16 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and sections 3, 4, 5 of Indian Explosive Act, according to Home Secretary R M Srivastava here.
