Panel To Advise Schools On Culture, Library Policies
New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) The Human Resource Development Ministry today announced an expert panel to advise Navodaya and Kendriya Vidyalayas on promoting and understanding Indian Culture and cultural activities.
The seven-member committee headed by former Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University Vice Chancellor Ashok Vajpeyi is also expected to advise the schools on 'library policy,' an announcement said.
Calling these schools 'pace-setters,' the Ministry stressed that ''they have proper policies for promotion and understanding of Indian culture and promote cultural activities. They should also have an appropriate library policy.'' The Committee members include National Council of Educational Research and Training Director Krishna Kumar, the announcement said.
The committee will be serviced by Navodaya Vidyalayas Samiti and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and give its recommendations within three months, it said.
