Is any Group to address JK Pandits problems? BJP asks PM
New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) Three weeks after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced that five groups would be constituted to examine the problems concerning the people of the Valley, the BJP today urged him to clarify if any of them was handling the issue of Kashmiri Pandits driven out of their homes in the early 1990s.
''While it is important to deal with problems of terrorist violence, economic problems concerning the valley and the need to bring the misguided youths to the mainstream, it would be better if the Government also thought something about the Pandits driven out of their homes in the valley and living in various refugee camps,'' BJP spokesman Arun Jaitley said.
The five Groups were announced by the PM after the Second Round Table on Kashmir in Srinagar.
J&K BJP chief Nirmal Singh had written to state Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on the issue and it is only proper that the government asks one of these five groups to consider the problems of the Hindu minority also, Mr Jaitley added.
