FS in Colombo, India willing to share constitutional experience

New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) India today reiterated its willingness to share ''constitutional experience'' with Sri Lanka to promote a peaceful settlement of the ethnic problem in the island nation.

Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran, who is currently in Colombo, met Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa this morning and discussed the efforts being made to evolve a political consensus to promote a peaceful settlement of the ethnic problem in the island nation.

An External Affairs Ministry spokesman here said the visit, at the invitation of the Sri Lankan Foreign Secretary, is part of a regular, high-level exchange of views that has been agreed upon between the leaders of the two countries.

The discussions would include a review of the wide-ranging bilateral cooperation that has emerged between the two countries, regional and international situation and the current status of the Sri Lankan Peace Process.
