Fresh batch of 1,113 pilgrims leave for Amarnath

Jammu, July 3: A fresh batch of 1,113 pilgrims left here today for the Himalayan cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir.

The batch, comprising 687 men, 212 women, 181 sadhus and 33 children, left from the base camp at M A M stadium here between 0500 hours and 0530 hrs, officials said.

The devotees left in a fleet of 40 vehicles under proper security arrangements, and were expected to reach their respective destinations at Pahelgam and Baltal by this evening, they said.
