End forward trading in essential commodities, vegetables: Mukhi
New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) Leader of the opposition in Delhi Assembly Jagdish Mukhi today sought a ban on forward trade in cereals, pulses and potato, saying this had caused the recent spiral in their prices.
Multinational companies participating in forward trade were making huge profits even as ''real'' traders were struggling to maintain supplies to retailers, he said. Only speculators were benefiting by creating artificial fluctuations in the market, he said while speaking to reporters here.
Meanwhile, the Delhi unit of the BJP organised a dharna against the price spiral at Madhuban Chowk today.
