Birla power solutions inks pact with Lombardini

New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) Birla Power Solutions Ltd and Lombardini India Pvt Ltd today announced a strategic alliance with an investment of Rs 600 crore to meet the country's growing demand of Gensets, due to the increasing gap between demand and supply of electricity.

An investment of Rs 600 crore is estimated and would have to be made by the Government of India to meet the current demand and supply gap in electricity, which probably may not be possible, a company statement said.

''This alliance has led to a great opportunity for the market of captive gensets. The alliance of Birla Power Solutions and Lombardini is coming up with a range of gensets to meet the domestic, commercial and defense markets,'' Birla Power Solutions Ltd Managing Director Sunil Patel said.

The entire range of engines up to 40 Kw both in diesel and petrol are being imbibed in a phased manner into the Indian subsidiary for manufacturing.
