Mysore, July 3 (UNI) A national convention of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) will be held in Bangalore on July 29 in support of trade union and human rights.

Talking to mediapersons here, AITUC State General Secretary H V Anantha Subba Rao said about 25,000 members from all over the country were expected to participate in the convention. AITUC National General Secretary Gurudas Dasgupta, MP, and other MPs and MLAs would also participate in it.

The meeting would focus on the plight of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation employees, who were being victimised for the last 14 years, as there was no provision for trade union movement.

The unorganised sector like Anganwadi activists had no job security.

The Government had turned ''anti-labour'' with the advent of globalisation and the Supreme Court orders were also not favourable for workmen, he alleged.
