Malaria cases rising in Nagaland
Kohima, Jul 02 (UNI) The Malaria cases were up in Nagaland for the past two weeks forcing the state health department to take preventing measure across the state.
Official sources said the mosquito bitten disease was reported in the plain areas of Dimapur town, Mokokchung and Wokha in bordering Asom.
Malaria Programme Officer Dr Rose in a statement here today expressed apprehension over the rapid spread of the disease.
Expressing regrets over the delay of the Intensified Malaria Control Project (IMCP) which should have started two years back, Dr. Rose said that the same was eventually initiated in 2005 with focus on technical guidelines for capacity building, behavioral change community programme and distribution of rapid diagnosis kits in inaccessible areas.
