Panels to monitor admission, fees

Bhopal, July 1: The Madhya Pradesh government has appointed two committees headed by retired High Court judges for monitoring the process of admission and fixation of fees in private sector vocational educational institutions in the state.

The committee headed by retired judge Chandresh Bhushan will monitor the process of admission, while another committee headed by retired judge V K Agrawal will fix the fees to be taken by these instiutions, official sources said.

Meanwhile, the Rajiv Gandhi University of Technology has decided to accord affiliation to those technical colleges which fulfilled the norms fixed for the purpose by All India Council for Technical Education and the university itself during 2006-07.

The decision was taken by the university's executive council.

The norms fixed by the university include a suitable building equipped with necessary laboratories and qualified teachers.

The university executive council also approved the temporary affiliation accorded to various technical education institutions in 2005-06.

Though there is no such provision for temporary affiliation under the University Act, some of the technical institutions without fulfilling the norms conduct the courses with temporary affiliation for years, an official release said.
