ISO certified police station in MP
Khargone, MP, July 1: A 100-year-old police station in this Madhya Pradesh district is all set to become a ISO certified station.
The police station would be the fourth ISO 9001 police station in the state, and 16th in the country. The state has two certified stations in Indore and one in Dewas.
Prior to awarding the ISO 9001 certificate, an ISO team led by Branch Manager Amritpal Singh Dhaliwal inspected the police station and found it conforming to ISO norms.
The team interviewed Station House Officer (SHO) Santosh Singh Bhadoria and other staff besides inspecting the maintenance of records.
Besides inspecting the facilities at the police station, the team observed the manner in which police dealt with public.
Senior police officials, including Superintendent of Police R L Borna and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Vipin Maheshwari, were present.
Mr Maheshwari said the police station would serve as a bridge between police and public.
Preparations were underway at the police station since the past six months and its outlook has changed completely to meet ISO standards.
A complainant is received at the reception and offered water or tea before being taken to the section concerned by a constable. He is provided a computer FIR report immediately after he lodges a complaint.
Besides, basic facilities for culprits were also made.
Mr Bhadoria said investigation of crime took less time now and the working style of police personnel had improved.
Mr Borna said better services would be available to public and transparency would be ensured.
