LTTE is too late to realise its mistake and tender apology: Naik
Panaji, June 28 (UNI) Rajya Sabha memeber Shantaram Naik, who is also the secretary of All India Congress committee, incharge of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep in a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said India should, under no circumstances forgive the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) for their heinous and brutal act of killing the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Mr Naik, in his press release issued here today said India and Indians are magnanimous in their approach over several issues but, let it be clear to the LTTE, which is a banned organisation in India and which several countries have declared a terrorist organisation, that we are not that magnanimous as to forgive those who took away from us, one of the most 'shining stars' of our country and a 'messiah of poor and weaker sections of the country.' The LTTE is too late to realise its mistake and tender an apology, that too in a suppressed tone. LTTE did not even consider that Rajivji wanted the LTTE issue to be resolved amicably and assisted them in all manner possible to defend themselves against any atrocities against them, but 'ungreatful' LTTE utilised the very strength to eliminate the hand which gave them the strength, Mr Naik said in his release.
He also said the Indian government should stick to its demand that Prabhakaran be handed over to India by the Sri Lankan government.
