Cong dispels fears on US-India N-deal
New Delhi, Jun 28 (UNI) The Congress today said that it was good that the US Congress has made a move towards endorsing the US India Nuclear deal and said the mandatory clauses in the Bill were in the interest of India.
The other clauses in the Bill were by way of suggestions which were not binding on India to accept them, Congress Spokesman Rajeev Shukla told reporters.
He said the apprehensions expressed in some quarters about some provisions of the Bill were unfounded. India was committed to what Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had stated in Parliament on the nuclear deal.
Asked to comment on LTTE Spokesman's comment owning up responsibility for the assassination of late former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Mr Shukla said "we have nothing more to add to what the Government has stated on the issue yesterday." "The Government view is there and we subscribe to the views,"Mr Shukla said.
