Nalbandian off to solid start
LONDON, June 27 (Reuters) Fourth seed David Nalbandian quickly found his rhythm to dispose of South African Wesley Moodie 6-3 6-4 6-1 in the first round of Wimbledon today.
Moodie, surprise winner of the doubles here last year with Australian Stephen Huss, looked ill-equipped to give the burly Argentine a real test and paid for a string of errors.
Nalbandian needed a single break of serve in each of the opening two sets and then raced into a 4-0 lead in the third as his precision groundstrokes had Moodie on the run.
He quickly raced into a 4-0 lead in the third set and clinched victory at the first opportunity when Moodie sent a half volley over the baseline.
Nalbandian, runner-up at the All England Club four years ago, had not played since retiring with an abdominal injury during his French Open semi-final against Roger Federer.
