New Delhi, June 26 (UNI) The Centre today moved the Supreme Court seeking court's intervention to resolve the controversy between the Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar and the state governemnt over the transfer of additional legal adviser to the governor.
A vacation bench comprising Mr Justice J R Lakshmanan and Mr Justice Altamas Kabir today decided to hear the matter tomorrow when Additional Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium mentioned the matter before the court for urgent hearing.
Additional legal adviser to the Governor Pradeep Dubey, who has been in the post for the last 12 years without any tarnsfer, was recently transferred by the Allahabad High Court.
The governor refused to accept the High Court order following which the five-judge bench of the court summoned principle secretary to the governor on July 4, and the legal adviser was placed under suspension.
The governor also refused to abide by the suspension order taking the stand that his legal adviser cannot be transferred or suspended without his prior consent.
