Bad weather stops play, Chopra tied 12th at Booz Allen Classic
Washington, June 26 (UNI) Lightning struck TPC Avenel course with Daniel Chopra stranded at one-over after completing his 12th hole in the final round of the five million dollar Booz Allen Classic at the Potomac, Maryland.
The Indian-born Swede had bogeyed his 12th hole and was tied for the 11th spot when play was suspended with 47 players yet to complete their rounds.
Chopra had a decent front nine despite starting on a disappointing note with a bogey on the first and stumbled again on the fourth but a birdie quartet helped him arrest the slide.
His back nine, however, got off to a disastrous start as he double-bogeyed the 11th and dropped another shot on the 12th before play was stopped.
At the top, American Ben Curtis was holding an eight-stroke lead with seven holes to play over Irishman Padraig Harrington, who was tied 10th at the start.
