South West monsoon further advances

Pune, June 24 (UNI) The South West monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of Marathwada, most parts of Vidarbha, remaining parts of Telangana and some parts of Chattisgarh.

The monsoon has been vigrous in coastal Karnmataka and active in Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Maharashtra, North interior Karnataka and Kerala. Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of West Rajasthan and heat wave conditions also prevailed in some parts of West Madhya Pradesh, North Gujrat Region and Kutch.

In the regions where the monsoon is yet to set in, day tempratures were appreciably above normal in remaining parts of West Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the regions.

Heavy-to-very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan and Goa and coastal Karnataka. Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep and at many places in interior Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Vidarbha, Marathwada and costal Andhra Pradesh and at many places in Orissa, Chattisgarh Telangana, Rayalaseema and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Asssam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat State and at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu.
