Several injured in Srinagar grenade blast

Srinagar, June 24 (UNI) Several people were injured in a grenade blast in the heart of the Srinagar city this afternoon, official sources said.

They said militants hurled a hand grenade towards the security forces at the busy Budshah Chowk near here at 1310 hrs.

However, it exploded on the roadside, causing injuries to several people.

A UNI correspondent, who was in the same area at the time of blast, saw injured being taken to hospital by locals and police personnel.

Traffic on the road, leading to the civil secretariat, the seat of the government, was also suspended.
