On removal of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's poem from school syllabus, he said he had full respect for the country's first Prime Minister but it was not appropriate to include only him in syllabus from class I to class VIII.

He said in view of the Supreme Court's order to include environment in the class I syllabus, the government had removed the poem. The former PM was still in the syllabus from class II to class VIII.

''The Congress has always taken political advantage and included Nehruji in the syllabus. This is the reason, that only Nehruji and his photographs had been included in the CBSE syllabus,'' Mr Chouhan said.

''Besides respecting Nehruji and Gandhiji, the Madhya Pradesh Government respected other leaders, who made important contribution in the country's independence struggle. As such, all the leaders would be given respect in the school syllabus,'' he added.

On electricity situation, Mr Chouhan said work on increasing power generation was going on in the state. However, it took time to build power house. The state government would start generating adequate power from next year after new units were completed.

The new projects include 520-MW Maheshwar project, 500-MW Birsinghpur, 425-MW Banganga, 210-MW Amarkantak, 40-MW Manikheda and 15-MW Bargi project.
