Pawan Hans creates world record of three lakh flight hours

Mumbai, June 24 (UNI) Pawan Hans, the biggest civil helicopter operator in India as well as in Asia and the largest Eurocopter Dauphin helicopter operator, created a world record of flying 3,00,000 hours with its Eurocopter Douphin fleet.

A release issued by Pawan Hans said it will further enlarge its fleet of modern, safe and especially comfortable off-shore helicopters with the delivery of two additional dauphin N3 helicopters this week in Mumbai and has signed up for two more Eurocopter Dauphin to be delivered early next year.

The company's headquarter is based in New Delhi and Pawan Hans has several helicopter bases all over the sub continent as it is operating 23 Dauphin helicopters and had received its first Eurocopter AS 365 in April 1983, said General Manager (Western region) Captain Sanjeev Varma, in an interaction with the reporters here yesterday.

Eurocopter, the world's largest helicopter manufacture has been successful in the Indian market both in industrial development and in selling a large number of helicopters. Its representative office is based in Bangalore and Delhi and the company is about to further expand and set up subsidiary in India.

Mr Rainer Farid, Diretcor sales south Asia and Vice President Asia Marie-Agnea VeVe of the Eurocopter said,''In 2006, our business focus in India will be to decisively increase our business platform by means of sales as well as by successful industrial deployment.

He further said. ''We are not only participating in a tender light helicopters called ORH with our proven AS 550 C Fennec, but are currently discussing numerous opportunities for long term industrial cooperation with the Indian aerospace industry specially regarding a 10 tons class helicopter requirement for the armed forces,'' he said.

As India is on our strategic markets, we are about to hire qualified workforce to quickly implement an efficient organisation in Bangalore Mr Farid added.
