Patwari convicted on bribe charge

Bhopal, June 24 (UNI) A Patwari and a non-official were sentenced to two years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000 each by a special court of Raisen after they were caught accepting bribe of Rs 3,000.

Official sources said on a complaint by Mana village resident Premnarayan Meena, Patwari Deepak Shrivastava and non-official Mahesh Shrivastava were caught by the Lokayukta police while accepting the bribe.

The Patwari had earlier demanded Rs 10,000 for mutation of the land registry, but later agreed for Rs 3000.
