Naval officer's office, home raided
Visakhapatnam, June 24 (UNI) The CBI conducted raids on a naval officer's office and residence here as part of a nation-wide operation.
According to sources here today, the officer concerned is a top ranking official of the Indian Naval destroyer INS Rajput. His identity was not revealed. It was also not clear if the officer was taken into custody.
A personal computer and some incriminating documents pertaining to his alleged role in the sensational naval war room leak case were seized during the raid yesterday.
It is suspected that he acted as a conduit for smuggling classified informataion related to the three armed forces and the Border Security Force through arms dealer Abishek Verma.
Local CBI superintendent of police A Sai Manohar refused to divulge any further informataion.
