Maoists blast MPDO office

Mahabubnagar, Andhra Pradesh, June 24(UNI) Naxalites belonging to the CPI (Maoist) flew up office of the Mandal Prajaparishat Development Officer (MPDO) in Koderu in this district late last night, police today said.

According to police, member of Maoists reached the office situated on the outskirts of the town and asked the staff present to clear out. They later set explosives at the main entrance and triggered them off. The front portion of the office was damaged.

The Maoists had committed arson at the Kalwakurti Lift Irrigation Project three days ago. These are alleged to be the retaliatory acts for the elimination of Maoist leader Ravi, in a recent encounter with the police.
