Light rains in capital

New Delhi, June 24 (UNI) The capital witnessed light rains this morning even as humidity levels rose to 55 per cent.

The rain followed an overcast sky, which was witnessed since morning.

Weathermen said the overcast sky was caused by the rising humidity levels in Delhi during the last few days.

The rains which started at around 1130 hours, were, however, limited to certain areas only, the weathermen added.

Meanwhile, high humidity levels during the day led to a rise in mercury to 40 Degrees celsius today. The last few days have witnessed a constant rise in humidity levels.

The weather office has forecast more rains and thundershowers during the next 24 hours.
