Goa election committee of BJP announced

Panaji, June 24 (UNI) The Goa BJP today announced its 17-member state election committee under the chairmanship of senior party leader MP and former union Minister Shripad Naik.

BJP state unit president Rajendra Arlekar, in the presence of former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and and MP Shripad Naik, announced the formation of the committee in view of the state elections due around next year.

He said the committee will propose the names of the candidates for the state and Parlimentary election and also conduct election campaigning in the state.

The other members of the state election committee announced today are Rajendra Arlekar, Manohar Parrikar, Laximikant Parsekar, Dr Suresh Amonkar, Prakash Velip, Francis D'Souza, Vinay Tendulkar, Sadanand Shet, Vishwas Satarkar, Govind Parvatkar, Subhash Salkar, Ms Kunda Chodankar, Ms Shubhangi Vaigankar, Mr Dattaprasad Kholkar, Sanjieev Desai and Satish Dhond.

Mr Arlekar, later speaking to reporters, said that the party will go before the electorate with BJP government's performance and failures of the Congress government.
