Fresh batch of 2105 pilgrims leave for Amarnath
Jammu, June 24 (UNI) A fresh batch of 2105 pilgrims today left for the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir amid tight security in the wake of recent threats and attacks on devotees.
The group, which left from the base camp of MAM stadium here, included 1478 men, 397 women, 78 children and 152 'sadhus', officials said.
Despite threats and attacks from terrorist outfits, a large number of pilgrims have darshan of the ice lingam of Lord Shiva at the holy cave .
The pilgrims left in a fleet of 81 vehicles, 42 buses and 39 light motor vehicles from the stadium at 0500 hrs today.
Aboutd 30,000 pilgrims have left for the pilgrimage from here since the 'yatra' commenced on June 10.
