Five policemen suspended for partying with criminal
Kota, June 24 (UNI) Five policemen including, one sub-inspector have been suspended after they were caught red-handed partying with a criminal in a city hotel.
Sub-Inspector Surendra Singh posted in Kota's Udyog Nagar police station along with four policemen of Udaipur police line were caught when they were enjoying a late night party with notorious criminal Bhanu Pratap Singh.
The Udaipur police had brought Bhanu to Kota for a court hearing.
Kota's Superintendent of Police Sanjay Agarwal has ordered an inquiry into the matter and issued suspension orders for sub-inspector Surendra Singh.
Meanwhile, Udaipur Superintendent of Police issued suspension orders for assistant sub-inspector Mohammad Shabbir, head constable Panna Lal, Constable Mahendra Singh and Ganpat Singh, who brought Bhanu Pratap to Kota from Udaipur.
A Kota court remanded Mahendra Singh and Ganpat Singh to judicial custody and sent them to Kota Central Jail. While Mohammad Shabbir and Panna along along with Bhanu Pratap and his accomplices Sumer Singh, Manoj Jain, Dipak Choudhary were remanded to police custody.
However, later sub inspector Surendra Singh was released on bail.
The investigation revealed that Bhanu Pratap were staying in two rooms in an expensive hotel along with four Udaipur policemen. The booking was done in the name of Balbir singh and one guest. Police are yet to investigate ascertain the identity of Balbir Singh.
