Five kg IED recovered from pressure cooker; HM militant surrenders
Jammu, June 24 (UNI) Security forces today recovered a five kilogram remote controlled IED, hidden in a pressure cooker, from a Doda-bound bus while one Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant surrendered in Banihal tehsil in Jammu and Kashmir.
A five kilogram prepared remote control IED, placed in a pressure cooker, was recovered at Thatri area, from a Doda-bound bus. The explosive was later destroyed.
Meanwhile, a militant, identified as Mohd Yasin Pachoo alias Rashid, 30, residents of Tragam, surendered at Nachlana, eight kilometers South of Banihal in Doda district.
He handed over an AK 56 rifle, three AK magazines, 90 rounds, one UBGL, five UBGL grenades, two Chinese hand grenades and one radio set (iCom) to the security forces.
In another incident, security forces recovered 52 kg explosive from a gunny bag buried under ground at Beoli forest, eight km South West from Doda.
Security forces apprehended one over ground worker Khadim Hussain, residents of Sadahat Kandi, from eight kilometers East of Maniyarwala yesterday.
He was later handed over to police.
