Doctor shot dead; 2 criminals lynched

Bulandshahr, June 24 (UNI) Two armed miscreants -- on the run after shooting a city-based doctor dead here today -- were caught and lynched by the people.

However, the aide of the slain criminals managed to escape on a motorcycle.

Police said Satyendra was shot dead outside his residence in Jahangirabad town this morning, about 35 kms from the district headquarters.

When the trio tried to flee on a motorcycle, Satyendra's father ran out on hearing the gunshots and caught two of them.

Soon locals gathered on the spot and thrashed the assailants with sticks, which resulted in their death.

Meanwhile, the deceased were yet to be identified.

A manhunt had been launched to nab the other culprit.
