Court grants bail to CBI inspector in graft case
New Delhi, June 24 (UNI) A local court today granted bail to a CBI inspector, accused in a bribery case, on the grounds that CBI could not file the chargesheet within the stipulated timeframe.
Special CBI Judge B S Mathur granted bail to inspector Nareshmitr Sehrawat on the grounds that the investigating authority had not filed the chargesheet within 60 days, the stipulated timeframe.
The accused, arrested on February 24, was an investigating officer of the cooperative group housing scam. He had allegedly demanded Rs seven lakh from an accused of that case and tried to approach and influence other investigating officers of the scam.
