Asom CM reviews National Games preparations
Guwahati, June 24 (UNI) Asom Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi yesterday reviewed preparations for the coming National Games in the state.
Participating at the Games' organising committee's meeting here, Mr Gogoi took stock of the preparations and directed the concerned officials to ensure that all work was completed before the scheduled date.
He expressed satisfaction at the inclusion of a sketch of the historic Rangghar in the logo for the Games, noting that Rangghar was the site of sporting activities in ancient Asom.
Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, taking part in the meeting, informed that the Games Village would be completed in a fortnight and gold medal winners from the state would be allotted houses in the village.
The meeting also reviewed the construction of the various stadiums and discussed ways to ensure smooth conduct of traffic during the Games.
