Al Qaeda's Zawahri hails slain Zarqawi: TV

Dubai, June 24: Al Qaeda's second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahri, hailed slain al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi as a martyr in a videotape aired by Al Jazeera television today.

''We express our condolences to the Muslim nation on one of its greatest soldiers,'' he said. Zawahri also attacked Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, saying ''he traded the name of Islam to get to the seat of power.''
