ACB unearths assets from doctor'S residences in AP

Hyderabad, June 24 (UNI) The Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths today conducted simultaneous raids at the residences of a doctor in Mahabubnagar, Gadwal and in the city and unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 60 lakh.

The disproportionate assets of the Dr Chennam Reddy, Civil Surgeon and District Co-ordinator, AP, included two plots at Uppal and Rajendranagar, two flats here, two houses in Mahabubnagar and Hyderabad, cash of Rs one lakh, fixed deposits worth Rs 4.92 lakh promisory notes worth Rs 18 lakh, investments in Post Office savings worth Rs four lakh and bank balances worth Rs 27 lakh.

The accused, who was arrested, would be produced before the special court for ACB cases here, according to an official release here.

In another case, the ACB officials raided the office and residence of District Manager, AP State Housing Corporation Limited, Machilipatnam, and at the residences of his relatives in Krishna and Guntur districts. During the simultaneous search, properties worth Rs 10 lakh near Tenali and promisory notes worth Rs eight lakh were unearthed.

The accused would be produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases Vijayawada, the release added.
